This is long enough for my dog however for some reason it wants to slide backwards at the front around her neck. The clap is tight so it doesn't need tightened. It's my dog's build I think. She's got a wide and deep chest (rottweiler/GSD mix).However it's not that crucial. It still covers her very well from the back of her neck to her tail. It absorbs a lot of water so when it's wrung out it's still got plenty of water to aid with cooling. I think it's a decent product for the price.
